KARACHI, July 27: Playing in his hometown, Shehram Changezi claimed the first major title of his career when he stunned veteran Mohammad Yousuf 6-2 in the final of 16th Snooker Cup ranking championship in Islamabad on Friday.

Shehram was home 56-32, 65-19, 88-38, 84-21, 15-65, 52-65, 82-27 and 62-42 in the best of eleven frames battle which lasted for about four hours.

The victory earned him a winning purse of Rs50,000 in addition to another amount of Rs50,000 given by the PSB and Rs10,000 by the Punjab Snooker Association.

Yousuf received runner-up purse of Rs35,000 while Saleh Mohammad took home Rs5,000 for the highest break (127).

The semi-finalists pocketed Rs15,000 each and quarter-finalists Rs7,500 each.

Earlier, Shehram disposed off Saleh Mohammad 6-5 while Yousuf got the better of Imran Shehzad 6-4 in the two semi-finals.
