Asfandyar visits Swabi

SWABI, July 28: Awami National Party president Asfandyar Wali Khan reached here on Saturday on a four-day visit to the district.

Party sources said that Asfandyar visited a number of areas on the day of arrival and held meetings with workers.

ANP district president Rehmanullah recalled that the founder of Khudai Khidmatgar movement, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, visited village-to-village to inculcate the spirit of non-violence in the Pakhtun nation during the independence movement.

“Our leaders felt an intense need of reawakening Pukhtuns because the war on terror was deliberately shifted to their land and the tribal region,” said ANP district general secretary Jehanzeb Khan.
