ABBOTTABAD, July 29: District Nazim Abbottabad Sardar Haider Zaman has said that all developmental works in the union council worth up to Rs0.5 million will be carried out through project committees.

The nazim on Saturday presided over a meeting of development agencies of Abbottabad. He said the decision had been taken under the directives of the provincial government aimed to speed up work on the projects and to ensure the quality of work. The meeting reviewed all ongoing development schemes in the district.

Mr Zaman said concerned departments would provide all technical support to the development schemes. The project committees headed by the nazim of respective union council would monitor the work, he said, adding that 25 per cent funds would be released in advance and the remaining amount would be disbursed after the completion and quality verification of the work.

The nazim directed all union council nazims to form the project committees at earliest to complete the projects on time.
