LAHORE, July 31: Two International Hockey Federation (FIH) officials visited Champions Trophy venue on Tuesday and discussed organisational matters with the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

The FIH delegates discussed matters related to marketing and TV coverage.

A PHF spokesman admitted that the FIH marketing manager, Steven Morris, and another official Rupt Rummnay who looks after TV coverage, held meeting with the PHF secretary Khalid Mahmood.

However, the spokesman did not disclose any details of the meeting, but assured issues related to security had not been discussed. The two FIH officials also visited National Hockey Stadium to find suitable positions to install billboards.

The six-nation event’s fate hangs in the balance after Australia pulled out by citing security concerns.

There are also reports that Australia had advised some other participating countries not to visit Pakistan.

According to reports, the Indian Hockey Federation has also offered the FIH to hold the event in case the tournament is shifted from Pakistan because of security problems.
