KOHAT, Aug 5: Executive engineer of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company, Kohat, has requested the police to provide him protection after receiving threatening letters from unidentified persons warning him to stop unannounced and prolonged load-shedding, according to sources.

It may be recalled that in violation of the schedule issued by Wapda, Pesco officials of Kohat are resorting to six- to 12-hour load-shedding everyday.

Power supply was suspended for five and a half hours from the grid and then two more hours were taken to repair some faulty lines in the Bannu Bazaar after a drizzle recently. The fault which occurred on the city-2 feeder at 4:30pm was finally fixed at 10 pm. On Saturday, the consumers of city-1 feeder suffered the longest load-shedding lasting 12 hours due to a power breakdown in the transformer and feeder at the Rawalpindi grid.
