PARACHINAR (Kurram Agency), Aug 7: Fifteen couples tied the knot at a joint wedding ceremony held for the first time in the agency on Tuesday. The ceremony was organised by a welfare trust run by Ayatullah Khaminai Madressah in Parachinar.

Around 50 couples also got themselves registered for the next mass wedding ceremony on the occasion. The newly-wed couples have been provided dowry worth Rs50,000 each to help them start a new life.

Religious leaders were of the view that due to extravagant weddings and parents’ inability to provide dowry, many families were unable to get their young children married.

Maulana Qamber Irfani of the trust urged the new couples to follow simple ways and adopt Islamic practices so that their life could be simple and easy.
