Faisalabad, Bahawalpur triumph

LAHORE, Aug 7: Faisalabad and Bahawalpur won their respective matches with identical scores 6-1 on the second day of the PHF talent grooming tournament at the National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Two goals by Mahmood Ali enabled Faisalabad to crush Karachi 6-1.

The winners led the first half 4-0.

Besides Mahmood, other scorers for the winners were Atif Yaqoob, Yasir Bashir, Atiq Ahmad and Shahbaz Ahmad, who added one goal each. Luqman scored the solitary goal for the losing side.

In the second match of the day, Bahawalpur outclassed Quetta with Rana Javed (2), Shahzad Nasir, Umar Bhutta, Adnan Akram and Inyatullah scoring goals. For Quetta M. Wasim banged home the solitary goal.

On Wednesday, Lahore meet Bannu while Army take on Bahawalpur.
