HYDERABAD, Aug 8: People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Dr Fehmida Mirza has condemned the alleged victimisation of Awam Dost panel’s union council Nazim Ghulam Mohammad alias Dilbar Sindhi of Badin district and some party workers belonging to minority communities.

In a statement faxed to Dawn here on Wednesday, she charged that at the behest of a provincial minister, Badin police has arrested the UC nazim Tando Bago and other political workers in Badin.

She alleged that PPP leaders and activists were being harassed and intimidated by the provincial minister because the minister knew that he would be thrown out in the forthcoming general elections.

She appealed to the Sindh High Court to take notice of the excesses of the minister and local police officers against the PPP workers.

Dr Fehmida demanded immediate release of the UC nazim and PPP minority workers and the withdrawal of false cases against them.

She regretted that instead of providing relief to the masses, the PML ministers were busy in harassing the PPP workers.

She appealed to the human rights organisations to visit Badin district and witness the cruelties of the minister.
