Top players for national snooker

KARACHI, March 11: The sixth Style National Ranking Snooker Championship will be held at Karachi Gymkhana Billiards Hall from April 13 to 20, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced Monday.

Forty top cueists on the national ranking chart will be participating in the 8-day event. The championship will carry a handsome prize money of Rs 174,000 with winner taking home Rs 50,000 and runner-up Rs 35,000.

The losing semifinalist will get Rs 15,000 each and losing quarter finalist would pick Rs 8,000 and losing pre-quarterfinalist will receive Rs 2000 each and cueist chalking the highest break will collect Rs 6000.

This will be PBSA’s second event after National Snooker Championship in which Farhan Mirza beat Khurram Agha in the final at KPT Sports Complex Hall.

Prominent players who will be appearing in the event included Pakistan number one Khurram Agha, reigning national champion Farhan Mirza, former world amateur champion Muhammad Yousuf, Naveen Perwani, former world number three Saleh Muhammad, Imran Shahzad, Atiq Latif Bakhsh, Shakeel Bhatti, Minhas Malik and Arifullah.—APP
