HYDERABAD, Aug 15: The PPP activists belonging to Chandio clan Mirpur Sakro taluka, Thatta district have accused their rivals of harassing and implicating them in false cases. They appealed to judiciary and higher authorities for justice.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Wednesday, Rahim Khan Chandio, Mohammad Umer Chandio and Jamal Chandio said they were being forced by the opponent Chandio clan and Shirazis to remove the PPP flags from their roof-tops.
“We are the PPP supporters since the days of Z.A. Bhutto and question of removing party flags doesn’t arise,” they contended. “A false case of rioting was registered on July 24 at the Mirpur Sakro Police Station and our homes raided by the SHO Yaqoob Bhatti, the ASI Hadi Bux Khushik while women and children tortured,” they alleged.
“On July 28 another false case of creating obstruction in official duty was registered by the Mirpur Sakro police and three people Chhutto Chandio, Jam Chandio and Sozal Chandio were arrested and challaned in court at the instigation of Shirazis,” they disclosed.
“The TPO Gul Abbasi and the SHO Yaqoob Bhatti raided our homes on Aug 14 while torturing children and women”, they said and added: “We received threats of dire consequences on complaining to the DPO Thatta.” District had become out of bounds for all as Shirazies were there, they complained.
They appealed for justice and asked the superior judiciary and higher authorities to take notice of the harassment by Shirazis and police and restore justice.
“During press conference we received telephonic message that our houses were again being raided by police”, they said.
To a query they said that their leaders in Thatta such as the MPAs Ms Sassui Palijo, her father Ghulam Qadir Palijo and others were implicated in false cases, while Ghulam Qadir Palijo was facing 28 cases.
PEASANT LEADER: Sindh Hari Committee president Azhar Jatoi has accused some nationalist parties of bargaining over the interests of Sindh to derive political benefit. He was speaking at the Central Committee meeting held here on Wednesday.
He said the haris and workers were true owners of Sindh but they were facing hunger and poverty while some nationalist leaders were bargaining with Choudharis and Khans. He said the people of Sindh will not tolerate extortionist elements and hypocrites. He called upon the haris and workers to unite against jagirdars, Choudharis, sardars and Khans to foil their designs against Sindh.
