NAWABSHAH, March 12: The provincial Ombudsman, Sindh, Justice (retd) Haziqul Khairi, has asked the elected representatives to solve the problems of people.
He was speaking at an open kutchehry, held at the Darbar Hall here on Tuesday.
He disclosed that the IGP of Sindh had suspended and dismissed a number of police officials on his directives and added that he had not received any complaint against the Nawabshah police.
He said that some 7,000 cases were registered with the office of the provincial Ombudsman, Sindh, against different departments of the Sindh government.
ACCIDENT: A person was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck (AE-0827) on 60 mile-Daur link road.
The name of the deceased could not be ascertained. The driver however managed to escape.
Watchmen: About 15 watchmen of government food grain godowns observed a token hunger strike outside Nawabshah press club here on Monday.
They were demanding minimum pay of Rs1870 per month, regularization of services of those watchmen who had served for more than five years and other basic facilities.
Meanwhile Nawabshah District Nazim Faryal Talpur has formed district peace committee comprising representatives of different sects to ensure peace and harmony during Moharram.
