HYDERABAD, Aug 18: The vice-chancellor of the Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, Dr Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, has called upon teachers to work hard to improve quality of education and to concentrate on research activities.

He said efficient and hard-working teachers would be awarded while the teachers who failed to come up to the standards would be provided more training opportunities.

He was speaking at a reception hosted in honour of those teachers who were elected as member of the university’s syndicate here on Saturday.

He said the university provides ideal atmosphere and facilities for academic and research activities.

He made it clear that there will be no compromise on attendance in classrooms and urged the chairmen and deans of all the departments and faculties to furnish regular reports about the attendance of teachers and students.

ADMISSIONS: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, announced here on Saturday that candidates seeking admission in first year engineering, City and Regional Planning and Architecture for the year 2007-08, can obtain application form and a copy of prospectus from Sept 3 to 15, from the following designated branches of Habib Bank Limited.

Sindh University Old Campus, Hyderabad, Station Road, (Dadu), Bunder Road,(Larkana), Frere Road, (Sukkur), Masjid Road, (Nawabshah), Main Bazar (Sanghar), Jinnah Road, (Mirpurkhas), Station Road, (Badin), National Highway, Thatta, Mehran Hotel, Karachi and Mehran University booth, Jamshoro.

Students can deposit their application forms in the same branch of the bank or send them by mail under registered post to the registrar of the university accompanied with Photostats of required documents from Sept 3 to 22.
