DADU, Aug 19: Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Ali Jatoi has said that funds will be released soon to repair damaged electricity installations in the flood-hit areas of Qambar Shahdadkot and Dadu districts.
He was speaking at a public gathering in Chakar Khan Shahani village on Sunday after inaugurating a road completed at a cost of Rs15.5 million.
He claimed that relief goods and Rs204 million in cash have been distributed among flood affected people in Dadu district, while on the demand of local farmers canals have been cleared of silt.
The minister said 200 more villages would be electrified during current fiscal year in the district.
He said that record development schemes of electricity, roads, water supply and construction of gird stations has been completed in Sindh.
He vowed that the Pakistan Muslim League would contest against the Pakistan People’s Party in the next elections and will secure more seats.
Earlier, Mr Jatoi held a meeting with Hesco officials in Betto Jatoi. The meeting was attended by Hesco chief engineer, project director Wapda construction and others officials.
PPP RALLY: The activists of PPP minority wing took out a rally from press club to party’s district office here on Sunday.
They were demanding of the party’s district president to recommend PPP worker Omesh Kumar for minority candidate for MPA seat in the next elections.
Later, their delegation met with PPP district president Rafique Ahmed Jamali.
