KHAIRPUR: Protest

KHAIRPUR, Aug 19: Members of Jagirani community staged a demonstration at the Civic Centre Chowk here on Sunday to protest against the Ahmedpur police.

The protesters raised slogans against police and demanded judicial inquiry into the arrest and torture of Pakhar Jagirani, a member of their community.

The protester said that three days ago Ahmedpur police, without any FIR, arrested Mr Jagirani from village Chhatan Shah taluka Kingri.

They said the police kept him at different police stations in Katcha area and torture him and he was released on Saturday evening.They said Mr Jagirani was admitted to Civil Hospital for medical treatment.—BoC
