NAWABSHAH, Aug 21: Members of the Sindh Rural Doctors Unity Forum staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Tuesday to protest against the delay in a special package offered to doctors serving in rural areas.
The protesting doctors were carrying placards and banners and raising slogans against the government.
Dr Sarwar Khaskheli, Dr Wazir Langah and others said that the Sindh chief minister had announced the special package on March 15, for doctors performing duties in rural areas, after a cabinet meeting.However, they said the decision was not implemented even after clear instructions of the chief minister.
They said that more than 70 male and female doctors have been performing duties in rural areas of the district and facing difficulties.
They demanded of the CM to issue the notification regarding this decision.
NAZIM: District Nazim Nawabshah Faryal Talpur has expressed her dissatisfaction over the law and order situation as well as sanitation conditions in the city.
She was speaking at a dinner hosted by her in honour of the newly elected office bearers of Nawabshah Press Club.
She said dacoities, theft, mobile snatching and kidnapping incidents have increased in the city and in adjoining towns which created uncertainty among public.
She said that overall sanitation condition in the city was also poor as garbage dumps could be seen everywhere.
Ms Talpur said it was responsibility of the taluka municipal administration to manage the sanitation system properly but it fails to do so due to many problems, like shortage of staff.
She said the district government has decided to get involved in the process and help TMA to fulfil the task.
Ms Talpur said that her government has planned a campaign “Cleaner and Greener Nawabshah” which would be launched from August 23.
THREE DIE: Three people died in separate incidents in the district on Tuesday.
Shahzad Ali Solangi 6, was killed when a speedy pickup hit him in Jam Saheb town.
Mohammed Shakeel 35, who lives in Gujrat, died when his truck overturned on National Highway near Karimabad bus stop. Soomro Bheel, 18, a labourer at a banana farm, drowned while swimming in Rein branch.
