HYDERABAD, Aug 21: The DCO Hyderabad Aftab Ahmed Khatri chaired a meeting on development and beautification of the Rani Bagh zoo on participatory basis.

The meeting held on Monday was attended by representatives of government and private financial organisations, the State Life Insurance Corporation, the Fateh Group of Industries and local government and the HDP officials.

Representation of different organisations evoked interest among participants for Rani Bagh zoo development, especially main gate.

The DCO Hyderabad informed of appointing a seven-member committee headed by Project Director HDP, Syed Sarfaraz Ahmed Shah to look into implementation and beautification affairs with members from the Young Al-Falah, Habib Bank, State Life, Fateh Group, Chairman and the EDO Finance and Planning and Hyderabad.

He asked the participants to obtain details of the project from consultants and select their own sphere of activity and added: District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil had already allocated Rs20 million under “Sarsubz Shadab Hyderabad”

This was the first time district government had launched beautification plan for entire Rani Bagh of whose allocation had been enhanced to Rs80 million from Rs40 million with the maintenance plan already launched on participatory basis, he said.

Chairman District Finance and Planning Committee Q. Mohammad Hakim briefed the meeting about “Sarsubz Shadab Hyderabad” programme. He said under this project trees will be planted throughout the district on 100km roads, while 200,000 saplings will be planted to develop the existing nurseries.
