LARKANA, Aug 23: The teaching staff of Government Arts and Commerce College Larkana demanded of the secretary education to withdraw the orders of appointing Mr Abdul Rasool Shaikh, an 18-grade teacher, as principal of the college, superseding senior teacher, Nazir Ahmed Shaihk of 19-grade.
In a recently adopted resolution which released here on Thursday, carrying signatures of 33 out of 45 teaching faculty members, they said that the appointment of Mr Rasool would jeopardise the decorum of the college which run without any politics.
The resolution said the college has a long track record of academic excellence.
The regional director college Larkana on May 3, 2007, had inducted Mr Nazir as principal of the college but the secretary education through another order has appointed assistant professor Abdul Rasool Shaikh as new principal of the college.
Most of the faculty members expressed resentment over the decision and asked how a teacher of 18-grade who was at the verge of retirement could be promoted to principal’s post?
The copies of the resolution were also dispatched to the ministry of education, chief secretary, director-general colleges and the regional director college, Larkana.
