NAWABSHAH, Aug 24: Sindh Minister for Local Government, Katchi Abadis, and Special Development, Mohammad Hussain, said on Thursday Sharif brothers had lied to the nation by claiming that they did not sign an agreement to leave the country.

He was speaking at a public meeting arranged by Dr Naeemul Arfeen, Nazim Union Council-5.

He said the fact had been disclosed by the copies of agreement submitted by the government which should act as an eye-opener for political parties and that they should show the courage of boycotting liars.

He further said Pakistani population was still deprived of civic facilities like clean drinking water, health cover and education even after 60 years and generals, clergy and corrupt politicians had jointly ruled the country by supporting each other.

He said the Mutahedda Qaumi Movement represents the 98 per cent belonging to lower middle class and struggling against wadera and feudal system.

He urged the people to reject corrupt politicians and vote for honest and genuine public representatives in coming elections.

He said the government was providing development schemes in rural and urban areas without any discrimination and more funds were being given to rural areas as the larger population lives there.

He said urban drainage scheme costing Rs34 million had already been initiated for citizens of Nawabshah whereas work on a filtration plant scheme with a planning of coming 20 years and costing Rs55 million will soon be started.

Budget of Public Health Department had also been increased from Rs1.5 billion to Rs3 billion for water supply schemes throughout rural areas of province, he said.

The minister also listened to the complaints of citizens and issued directives to municipal authorities on spot.
