HYDERABAD, Aug 25: Di-strict Coordination Officer Aftab Ahmed Khatri has appealed to the people residing in buildings, which have been declared dangerous by the Hyderabad Development Authority (DHA), to evacuate to safer places to avoid any fatal accident, especially during heavy rains.

He directed the officers of Building Control Department of HDA in a meeting on rain emergency plan at his camp office on Friday night to form a committee of senior officers to convince people with the help of nazims of concerned union councils to move to safer places or relief camps.

He informed the meeting that the management of Building Control Department had declared 86 buildings as dangerous, out of which, 20 buildings had been declared most dangerous, which could collapse at any time during heavy rains.

Mr Khatri directed the revenue officers to inspect the government buildings declared as relief camps and asked them to procure and keep stock of all the necessary relief material such as food items, clothes and beds etc in advance.

He directed the EDO of education to reserve at least 15 school buildings for the establishment of relief camps in emergency and directed the EDO of health to make life saving drugs available in all the hospitals to meet any incident of building collapse, snake bite, electrocution or waterborne diseases.

At another meeting, the DCO said that almost all the disputes about the ownership claims on some portions of the site for the construction of a bus terminal near Hala Naka had been solved and the construction work would be started within shortest possible time.
