KHAIRPUR: Tribute paid to novelist

Published August 27, 2007

KHAIRPUR, Aug 26: The Sindhi Adabi Sangat organised a literary reference here on Saturday evening to pay tribute to Qurratulain Haidar, one of the major novelists of the sub-continent. The speakers said that the author had left an unforgettable print on the literary history of the Sub-continent and that her novels were popular throughout the region, including Sindh.

They said that some of the novels also reflected the history and culture of Sindh and they were widely read in the province for this reason also. They said that Qurratulain Haidar’s popularity in Sindh could be gauged from the fact that personal libraries of several Sindh writers had entire collection of Qurratulain Haidar.
