SWABI, Aug 31: The chairman of the governing body of Shahmansoor Township and District Nazim Shahram Khan directed the management of Swabi Development Authority to pay back Rs500 to each applicant who applied for a 10-marla plot in the township.

A total of 11,528 applicants deposited Rs461.122 million for plots in the Shahmansoor Township. Each applicant purchased the form at a rate of Rs1500 which is non-refundable. A total of 107 plots have been demarcated in the township so far. A total number of 13,900 forms were purchased by the people, but among them the aforementioned people had submitted their forms for plots.

Each applicant deposited Rs40,000 with the form plus a non-refundable Rs1500 paid for each form. Only through selling of forms the SDA has earned Rs2.850 million. People demanded that the balloting for plots should be held immediately.
