HYDERABAD, Sept 6: Muttahida Labour Federation secretary general Qamoos Gul Khattak has complained that despite the orders of the Supreme Court, the names of thousands of workers of Lakhra Coal field, who are permanently residing there, have not been registered in the voters lists.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mr Khattak who was also a member of the central committee of Awami National Party said that during the first phase, the names of 1,138 permanent residents of Lakhra were registered but in the preliminary list of voters, only 375 names were included.

He pointed out that 8,600 workers were employed in Lakhra coal field out of which 4,700 workers were permanent settlers.
