SWABI: Explosive device defused

SWABI, Sept 6: Police found a time bomb near the district population welfare office building here on Thursday, officials said.

The police cordoned off the area and defuse it after a farmer spotted the device and informed them about it.

The five-kilogramme bomb was fitted with a timer and two detonators.

Concealed in a tin box, it was lying on the back side of the office.An official said that four staff members and five visitors were in the office when the police found the device. On Aug 15, two men were killed in an explosion at a private educational institute in the district, while a CD shop was blown up in the Shewa Adda area recently.
