KARACHI, Sept 12: Leg-spinner Shahzaib Khan grabbed four for 39 as Karachi Urban completed a resounding 158-run victory over Multan in a three-day PCB Inter-regional Under-19 Cricket Championship match at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground here on Wednesday.

Multan, who were set 290 for victory after the home team declared their second innings at 310 for five, were dismissed for 131 in 33.4 overs on the final afternoon. Left-arm paceman Zohaib Shera and slow left-armer Osama Basharat took two wickets each.

Left-arm spinners were on song in other first-round fixtures as well with Peshawar and Hyderabad winning their matches.

Abdur Rehman returned a match haul of nine for 111 as Peshawar beat Abbottabad by 75 runs at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. Fellow left-armer Jibran Khan claimed four for 67.

Mohammad Sharif was Hyderabad’s bowling hero with match figures of eight for 89 at Quetta’s Bugti Stadium where the hosts were all out for 167 in the second innings to lose by 134 runs. The visitors also owed their victory to opener Mohammad Azeem, who finished 150 not out in the second innings.

As expected the fixture between Faisalabad and Lahore Ravi at the Sports Stadium was drawn after Tuesday’s second day was washed out.

In the remaining two games, Rawalpindi and Sialkot picked up first-innings points in drawn ties. The highlights of the Lahore Shalimar-Sialkot clash at the LCCA Ground in Lahore were centuries by Ayaz Tasawwar (151 not out) and Asif Khan (126).
