Raise in CAA staff wages approved

LAHORE, March 16: The Civil Aviation Authority Board has approved the revision in the pay package of CAA employees.

The board directed the authority to send the proposed package to the ministry of finance for concurrence.

The decision was taken at the CAA board meeting, presided over by Defence Secretary Lt-Gen Hamid Nawaz at the New Terminal Complex here on Saturday.

The meeting decided that increase in the pay of CAA employees should be made in conformity with the raise given to the federal government employees and that too from the same date.

It was decided that pending concurrence from the ministry of finance, 50 per cent of the arrears with effect from December last year should be paid to the employees immediately.

The wages of CAA daily wages employees should also be increased from Rs125 to 150 per day.

The board also discussed the purchase of Automatic Flight Inspection System (AFIS) and directed the authority to process the government formalities for its procurement.

The defence secretary along with all board members also inspected the new terminal complex and directed the officials concerned to complete the project within the stipulated time.

The defence additional secretary, vice-chief of air staff, CAA director-general, PIAC managing director, GOC army aviation and joint secretary aviation division, ministry of defence, attended the meeting.
