SWABI : Jeweller robbed of Rs25m

SWABI, Sept 15: Robbers on Saturday took away Rs25 million worth of gold, silver and cash from a jeweller’s shop.The Topi police refused to give details of the robbery. The owner of the shop said the incident took place just before dawn in his shop located at Meena Bazaar in Topi and thieves had taken 1,300 grammes of gold, 1,320 grammes of silver, miscellaneous items weighing 160 grammes and Rs900,000 in cash.

Jewellers in Topi tehsil observed a strike on Saturday and staged a protest demonstration in the main bazaar, calling for immediate recovery of all stolen material.

They criticised the police for inaction and announced an indefinite strike.
