HYDERABAD, Sept 20: The chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party, Ms Benazir Bhutto, was acceptable if she brought ‘terrorists’ to justice and committed herself to resolving genuine issues of Sindh, said Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palejo on Wednesday.
Speaking to journalists outside the press club where a large number of party activists staged a sit-in against the incident at the Sindh High Court in Karachi by the workers of a political party and murder of two lawyers, Mr Palijo said she would be considered an agent of the United States and Musharraf if she compromised with ‘terrorists’.
Terrorists were being patronised by the government instead of being prosecuted for their crimes, he said and added that Sindh had been forcibly occupied and converted into a colony of imperialist forces. Karachi was being held hostage by terrorists although it belonged to indigenous Sindhis and the city was not anybody’s fiefdom, he added.
He said even the US was facing defeat because of growing awareness among people and those who wanted to be allies of the US would stand defeated. Sindhis people might vote for anyone but they should not elect traitors, he exhorted.
He said that Nawaz Sharif had withdrawn the slogan of Kalabagh Dam after facing resistance from Sindh and his party was part of Anti Greater Thal Canal Committee too.
