Sialkot, Peshawar win in U-19 event

KARACHI, Sept 26: Sialkot thrashed Karachi Urban by 247 runs in their three-day PCB Inter-regional Under-19 Cricket Championship match at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground on Wednesday.

Karachi Urban were shot out for a paltry 69 in their second innings after the visitors declared their second innings at 223 for six to set a challenging target of 317.

Medium-pacer Adil Raza claimed five for 33 while slow left-armer Nayyar Abbas took four for 28 to finish with a match haul of eight for 102.

Karachi Harbour also suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Peshawar who won by 10 wickets at the TMC Ground. The hosts were dismissed for 82 on the final day. Slow left-armers Abdul Raheem (6-40) and Jibran Khan (4-27) shared the wickets. Jibran, in fact, ended up with match figures of 11 for 70.

In other matches, Islamabad beat Abbottabad by five wickets while Rawalpindi trounced Faisalabad by 223 runs.

At Diamond Club Ground, Islamabad: Islamabad beat Abbottabad by five wickets.

At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad:

Rawalpindi beat Faisalabad by 223 runs.
