Three killed in attack on checkpost

HANGU, Oct 2: Two policemen and a Levies Force soldier were killed and two others suffered injuries when they came under fire at a checkpost on the main Thall Road here on Tuesday evening.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Irshad Khan told journalists that unidentified persons in a car attacked the Kotki checkpost when policemen were breaking the fast.

The checkpost is adjacent to the residence of NWFP Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai.

Mr Khan said two constables, Tajjamul Hussain and Taj Hussain, and Levies soldier Arbab Khan died on the spot. Two constables, Musarat Hussain and Jalil Hussain, were injured.
