LAHORE, Oct 3: Three Pakistani trucks carrying fresh and dry fruit crossed over to India for the first time on Wednesday after commencement of cross-border movement of trucks for cargo transportation from Oct 1.
In the meanwhile, another 15 Indian trucks brought more tomatoes to this side of the border.
The trade volume is already picking up after the move to allow cross-border trucking to facilitate movement of cargo from both sides. As many as 20 trucks had brought tomatoes and frozen meat on Tuesday.
Both the countries have yet to create adequate infrastructure on their respective sides for handling increasing volume of cargo as a result of the new arrangement, officials told this reporter.
