SWABI, Oct 4: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has failed to repair more than 300 telephone lines here that have been lying out of order for the past three months.
Subscribers were facing immense hardships and running from pillar to post to get the lines repaired but to no avail.
Sources in PTCL told Dawn on Thursday that the most affected regions were Gandaf, Bisak and its suburbs.
“The staff are facing great difficulties in repairing the cable that passes through mountains,” an official said.
“It may be difficult to repair the out-of-order numbers immediately because we are short of staff, but we realise that there is a need to work round-the-clock,” he said.
Sources said it is difficult to repair cables in mountainous regions, adding that the officials concerned were aware of the problems faced by the subscribers of the region but were helpless due to lack of required manpower.
Sources added that high-ranking officials must come forward.
