HYDERABAD, Oct 18: The district government has decided to provide training facilities to cameramen in view of the importance of electronic media in the age of information, said District Nazim Hyderabad, Kanwar Naveed Jamil and added: “The training will not only facilitate cameramen but also technicians.” He said this while presiding over a meeting at his Secretariat, on Thursday.

The DCO Hyderabad, Aftab Ahmed Khatri, the EDO Education Prof Anwar Siddiqui and other officials and elected representatives attended the meeting.

He said the information technology had made the world a global village and as such there was great competition among news channels creating great opportunities for cameramen and technicians.

Therefore, he said, the district government decided to provide training to cameraman and technicians.

BURNT TO DEATH: An 80-year old woman was burnt to death when her house caught fire in Unnar Para, Tando Allahyar, on Thursday.

According to reports, a disabled and blind woman Ms Wasandi, wife of Ak Manganhar, was sleeping in her bed when her Katcha house caught fire burning her to death. All household items were reduced to ashes.

No one was present in the house and the people of the locality saw smoke rising from the house and rushed to the spot but it was too late as the woman was already dead.

As she was a chain-smoker, perhaps matchstick was responsible for the fire.

MUET: The Registrar, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, has notified those who have applied for new admissions to first year engineering, architecture and city and regional planning for the 2007-08 session (2008-batch) to submit mark-sheets of Higher Secondary Certificate Part-II and three-year diploma certificates up to October 22, failing which they will not be issued admit cards for appearing in pre-admission test to be conducted on October 28, at the Public School Latifabad, Hyderabad.
