HYDERABAD, Oct 25: The president of Sindh People’s Youth Organisation (SPYO), Aajiz Dhamrah, on Thursday said that it appeared Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim wanted to trigger conflict in the province with statements that he was nowadays issuing against Pakistan People’s Party chairperson.
He said at a news conference at the press club that the chief minister was trying to be more loyal than the king and warned that Dr Arbab should not forget that the Chief Minister’s House was not out of the party workers’ reach. He should be thankful to Ms Benazir Bhutto who had stopped her workers from taking any hasty step because she had firm belief in democracy and moderation, he said.
If the chief minister did not stop this he would not find any safe place in Sindh as it was not difficult for the people who could willingly embrace death to stop him from opening his mouth against the party chairperson, he warned.
Mr Dhamrah condemned police raids on the residences of Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza in Karachi and Badin and said that he believed Dr Arbab knew about the existence of bombs because he had already said that the PPP rally would come to an end after midnight on Oct 18.
Instead of ordering an inquiry into the blasts he had assumed the role of a spokesman for the murderers and went as far as calling the people involved in blasts Mujahideen, he said.
He urged the Chief Justice of Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of Dr Arbab’s statements, who as chief executive of the province, had failed to provide security to Ms Benazir Bhutto.
T.M. KHAN: Hundreds of party workers took to streets in Tando Muhammad Khan and blocked the man Hyderabad-Badin road in protest against Dr Arbab’s remarks against Benazir Bhutto and police raid on the house of party leader, Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.
