KARACHI, Oct 25: Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto said on Thursday that she would not accept the findings of the probe into the October 18 terrorist attack on her rally if it was not conducted in a scientific manner.

“I insist… I will not accept any result of the inquiry if forensic, technical and scientific means are not employed to get to the bottom of not only who are the perpetrators but who are the financiers and organisers and sponsors (of those attacks),” she said while talking to journalists at Bilawal House.

The PPP leader said she did not want a judicial inquiry at this stage but expressed full confidence in the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The government has rejected her request for foreign investigators, saying local authorities are capable of arresting those behind the blasts.

Ms Bhutto’s comments came as she prepared to visit her ancestral home of Larkana on Oct 27 where her supporters have started gathering.

Not satisfied with the ongoing investigation, she asked: “Who took the decision that the FIR should be filed without talking to me.”

“For General Musharraf’s security foreign experts came to give training but not for investigations into my case. I am only asking for investigations so that the terrorists and their mastermind can be arrested,” she said, suspecting that those who were opposed to her demand were trying to hide something.

She reiterated that forensic and terrorism experts from the US or UK should be allowed to assist in the inquiry.

“We take financial help and political help from abroad, why can’t we take help from technical experts for this investigation?” she asked.
