HYDERABAD, Oct 26: The Chairman of the Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party Dr Qadir Magsi has opposed all forms of extremism and reiterated his demand to include MQM in investigations of bomb blasts on October 18 on Benazir Bhutto’s caravan.

He criticised Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim far his outburst against PPP chief Benazir Bhutto, saying it was unbecoming of a man holding a high office.

Briefing journalists about two-day deliberations of STP which was presided over by him at Taraqi Pasand house here on Friday, he rapped President General Pervez Musharraf for his ‘enlightened moderation’ rhetoric. He said the General was surrounded by remnants of Gen Ziaul Haq and in this regard named Humayun Akhtar and Ejaz ul Haq.

He said that military men who made fortunes during the Afghan war through gun-running and narcotics trade should be prosecuted.

He said that MQM should be included in the investigations of October 18 bomb blasts as all indicators of Nishtar Park tragedy (in which the entire leadership of Sunni Tehrik was wiped out during the Eid Milad congregation) pointed towards MQM.

“MQM is an agent of international agencies otherwise it is nothing in itself”, he claimed. He said that Sindhis would not let the blood of October 18 martyrs go down the drain. “It was an attempt to discourage and harass Sindhis so that they should not ever plan to gather in Karachi on any issue”, he said.

He came down hard on the Sindh chief minister for using derogatory remarks against PPP leader Benazir Bhutto and considered it an abuse against people of Sindh as well.

He announced that STP would field candidates on six National and 12 Provincial Assembly seats in Sindh in the forthcoming general elections. He said that STP would hold its Youm-e-Shuhda programme in Karachi as scheduled.
