HYDERABAD, Oct 31: Forty-five activists of the PML-F who had joined the party after deserting the Pakistan People’s Party rejoined the PPP and made the announcement at a press conference here on Wednesday.

Makhdoom Sajid Hussain Abbasi said that they had left the PPP and joined PML-F because they had differences with some people and they were rejoining it now after the differences had been removed.

He reposed confidence in the dynamic leadership of Benazir Bhutto who, he said, was striving for the restoration of true democracy and peoples’ government in the country.

He vowed to remain in the vanguard of PPP and called upon PML-Q leaders to refrain from using intemperate language against Benazir Bhutto. PPP MPA Zahid Ali Bhurgari, Amanullah Siyal and Syed Fayaz Shah were also present at the conference.

SPSF: The Sindh People’s Students Federation on Wednesday warned the government to stop victimisation of the activists of Sindh People’s Students Federation (SPSF) within 72 hours; otherwise the student wing of the party would lay siege to the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi.

Federation leaders Lala Rizwan Mughal, Mir Hassan Baloch and Amjad Baloch said at a news conference at the press club that an impartial inquiry should be conducted into the Oct 18 tragedy and victimisation of Benazir Bhutto’s followers should be stopped forthwith.

They advised the chief minister to keep his mouth shut or be prepared to be greeted with rotten tomatoes and eggs wherever he went. They demanded that the government should set free SPSF leaders.

MEGHWAR STUDENTS: A group of students of Sindh University belonging to Meghwar community staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday against the raids on the houses of Meghwar and Lund communities in Kaloi, district Tharparkar, at the instance of Arbabs and murderous attack on Sohail and Shevan.
