HYDERABAD, Nov 4: The director general HDA has directed that all building material lying on roads, as already notified by the building control department, should be removed forthwith as it was blocking the smooth flow of traffic and causing inconvenience to the pedestrians.

He directed the building control department to inform people through the special task force about encroachments failing which the department should itself remove the building material and the person concerned will have to pay not only the cost but also penalty.

He further said that the projects, houses and shops which have been completed their owners must obtain residence certificate.

DECLAMATION CONTEST: Cadet College Petaro here on Saturday organised the 16th bi-lingual declamation contest in which 28 teams from different educational institutions from all over the country participated.

In the first session, speakers from Habib Public School Karachi, garrison Cadet College Kohat, Cadet College Larkana, Army Public School and College Hyderabad, Govt Zubaida Girls College Hyderabad, Cadet College Sanghar, Cadet College Palandari, Hayat Girls College Hyderabad and Sir Syed Government Girls College Nazimabad, Karachi participated.

The second session was presided over by Major General Ziauddin Najam, GOC, SFS Pak camp Petaro. He was also presented a guard of honour and introduced to the college faculty.

Speakers from Punjab university college of I.T Lahore, Army Public School and College Thatta, Bahria College NOREI, Bahria College Karsaz Karachi, Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi Mansehra, DHA Degree College for Women Karachi, Pakistan Naval Academy Karachi, Pakistan Marine Academy Karachi, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro, Karachi university, Defence School of Business Education Karachi, Dow University of Health Science Karachi, G.C university Lahore, NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, University college of Pharmacy Lahore and Military College Jehlum participated in the declamation.

In the English debate, Rameez Hassan of LUMHS secured first position while Sheeraz Umer of Pak Naval Academy was declared second. Shahid Javed of Garison Cadet College Kohat, Cadet Khurram Memon of Cadet College Sanghar and Ms Sughra Shah of Bahria College NORE-I Karachi shared third position.

In Urdu debate, Miss Zainab Akbar of Dow university of Medical Sciences Karachi, M. Saad of PNA Karachi and Mr Qasim Saleem of Karachi university secured first, second and third positions respectively.

The championship was won by Pakistan naval Academy Karachi while Bahria College NORE-I Karachi was declared runner-up.
