SUKKUR, Nov 6: The district government of Khairpur on Tuesday imposed ban for 30 days on staging processions, demonstrations and public gatherings, said an official notification.

The order said that some political parties were planning to bring out processions, demonstrations and rallies which might create unrest and disturb public peace.

“Therefore, to save the lives and property of people the district government imposes ban on procession, demonstrations, public rallies, Jalsas and gatherings at any public place except for the marriages and funeral gatherings, for a period of 30 days with immediate effect throughout district,” the notification said.—APP
