DADU, Nov 7: The District Council has unanimously passed a resolution against the EDO Finance for not releasing budget and honorarium of the ADP schemes.

Council members demanded of the President Pervez Musharraf to direct the Sindh government for holding an enquiry against the EDO Finance.

The meeting was presided over by the Naib Nazim Syed Mohammad Shah, on Wednesday.

Member Pir Gambal Shah presented a motion stating the EDO Finance was not releasing honorarium (Rs3,000) to 23 council members for last five months. He said about one million rupees had been allocated for development schemes at every Union Council but the money was yet not released.

He alleged the EDO to be misguiding the house and creating differences among District Nazim and council members. He said the EDO was causing loss to people by not releasing money to concerned departments.

Another member said Rs760 million allocated for ADP schemes in budget had not been released as yet. Another member Abdul Ghaffar Khero said expenses for vehicles of committees were not released.

Dr Hidayat Chandio said over Rs20 million provided by federal minister for water and power was lapsed due to the negligence of District Finance Department.

The EDO Finance Noor Mohammad Leghari said he had released Rs5 million for development schemes.

The EDO Works and Services Mohammad Ali Memon said the EDO finance did release Rs5 million during last fiscal and this year not a single rupee had been released for development schemes. Members raised slogan against the EDO Finance demanding his removal.

Later, members passed unanimous resolution and demanded of the Sindh government to take action against the EDO Finance.
