DADU, March 26: Two people were killed and 40 injured when a Karachi-bound passenger coach overturned on the Indus highway near Sehwan on Monday.

When the coach (LHO-7933), coming from Dera Ghazi Khan, arrived at the village Bachal Channa, its driver lost control as a result the bus overturned.

The deceased were identified as Rafique, 20, son of Abdul Sattar, resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, and Mureed 25, son of Fateh Mohammad, resident of Hasilpur.

The injured were admitted to Sehwan Taluka Hospital where condition of the 19 among them was said to be serious.

Those injured critically were identified as Khalid, Imtiaz, Ranjha, Fayaz, Mohammad Sajjad, Fayyaz son of Ghulam Sarwar, Mohammad Bilawal, Mohammad Farooq, Abdul Rasheed, Shakeel, Abbas, Mohammad Riaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Rafique son of Khuda Bux, Abid, Ashique, Mohammad Umer, Tanveer and Allah Wasayo.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to their native towns through the Edhi ambulances.

The unidentified driver of the coach escaped from the scene.

Sehwan police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and impounded the coach.

DROWNS: Shahid Hussain, 21, resident of Nagan Chowrangi, Karachi, drowned in River Indus near Laki Shah Sadar in taluka Sehwan on Tuesday while he was taking bath in the river.

The body of the deceased was fished out by fishermen after hectic efforts of six hours.

The body was sent to the home of the deceased through Edhi ambulance.
