Indian atrocities condemned

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 11: A top Kashmiri guerilla leader has condemned fresh atrocities in occupied Kashmir and accused Indian forces of killing Kashmiri people for their affiliation with the freedom struggle. In a statement issued here on Sunday, United Jihad Council’s chairman Syed Salahuddin cited instances in Sopore and Pattan where, he said, the troops had torched and looted dozens of houses.

Mr Salahuddin condemned the detention of Hurriyat leaders, particularly Syed Ali Shah Geelani and said it was aimed at preventing them from visiting the affected areas and covering up misdeeds of Indian troops.
