KARACHI, Nov 15: Pakistan’s highly talented cueist Imran Shehzad grabbed his fourth win in the World Snooker Championship in Korat (Thailand) when he thrashed Tameral Al-Masri of Jordan 4-0 on Thursday, according to information received here.

The 32-year-old Imran has gained 4th spot in Group ‘F’ with four wins from five matches. Stefan Mazrocis of the Netherlands is leading the group with five wins from five matches.

Earlier, in the morning session, Imran inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Lee Po-Hsien of Chinese Taipei. The Lahore-based player, appearing in his first global competition, dropped the middle frame before collecting his third win.

Demonstrating fine cue control, potting and safety play, Imran picked up the first two frames with consummate ease. However, Hsien pulled the third frame by masterly sinking the multi-colored balls.

To his credit, Imran quickly came back in the game, out-potting his opponent and seizing the final frame to complete 77-47, 84-30, 29-94, 57-7, 65-47 win.

Saleh Muhammad who has won four of his five league matches in Group ‘C’ had a rest day on Thursday.

David Lilley of England is showing superb form in the competition by winning all his first Group ‘A’ league matches which include as many as seven century breaks. —APP
