HYDERABAD, Nov 23: “Its time opposition parties concentrate on election campaign than blaming the caretaker set-up,” said the Sindh Minister for Planning and Development, Syed Jalal Shah Jamote.
The caretaker minister further said the aim of his government was to conduct general elections in a free, fair and transparent manner and called upon the opposition parties to concentrate on strengthening democracy.
He was speaking to reporters at a reception hosted for him by Taluka Nazim Matiari, Syed Azhar Hussain Shah Jamote, on Thursday. “Our ministers are impartial sans party affiliations with the sole responsibility to ensure fair and free polls,” he said.
He said people will witness rigged-free elections and advised the opposition parties to concentrate on their campaigns.
Defending imposition of emergency, Syed Jalal Shah Jamote said President Pervez Musharraf took the decision to check terrorism and sabotage activities. He said all restrictions on media will be removed.
Jamote, a former MPA said record development took place in Matiari during last five years.
SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission on Thursday announced the results of departmental examinations for the post of assistant collector Part-I and II, held by the Commission in October 2007.
The Commission also announced the result of revenue qualifying examination held in October/ November 2007.
Meanwhile, the SPSC also announced that no candidate had qualified departmental examination of sub-ordinate treasury accounts service (accounts clerk, accountant) and departmental examination of forest officer.
