LARKANA, Nov 24: The district body of Pakistan People’s Party Larkana accused the caretaker prime minister of heading the election campaign in Jacobabad. At a press conference here on Saturday, Ayaz Soomro and Anwar Bhutto, the president and the general secretary of PPP of Larkana district along with other office-bearers said that a caretaker’s job was to hold transparent elections but here the case was quite different.

They claimed that the caretaker prime minister was playing a role of a catalyst in evolving alliances that had overshadowed his neutrality.

They disclosed that the votes of Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Khairpur districts were enlisted in NA-207 which is the constituency of Ms Benazir Bhutto and added that no action was taken despite conveying the anomalies to the chief election commissioner and provincial election commissioner.

They termed the transfer of 71 judicial officers in Sindh prior to elections as rigging.

They questioned the transparency of the polls. They claimed that judges who took oath under the Provisional Constitution Order were supporting PML-Q.

They said Larkana was no exception in such transfers. They pointed out that the Election Commission, by amending rule 6 of the nomination papers, had made it mandatory for a candidate to personally file the nomination papers.
