HYDERABAD, Nov 27: The Hyderabad press club set up a protest camp on the footpath of the club road to condemn the ban on private TV channels and Pemra ordinance.

A large number of journalists, led by the press club president Khalid Khokhar, vice president Hameedur Rehman, Iqbal Mallah and others staged a sit-in at the camp.

Former speaker Sindh Assembly Mr Hussain Haroon, Pir Khalid Saeed Khan Sarhandi, member Sindh Bar Council, Fazal Qadir Memon, senior lawyer Abdur Rehman Shaikh also joined the sit-in to express solidarity with the journalists. A delegation of Jamaat-i-Islami women wing, led by Shahnaz Baqai, visited the camp and showered rose petals on the protesting journalists.
