QUETTA, Nov 29: Mir Zarak Khan Zehri has announced the revival of Zehri faction of the Pakistan Muslim League which was formed by his grandfather Mir Qadir Bux Zehri in 1933.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Mir Zarak said he had applied to the Election Commission for a symbol for the PML (Zehri) to contest the coming elections.
He said his grandfather and his brother Mir Nabi Bakhsh Zehri had played an important role in the freedom movement from the platform of the PML led by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the revival of his grandfather’s faction was aimed at defeating the saboteurs allegedly involved in bomb blasts in Balochistan.
Mir Zarak said that President Pervez Musharraf was only ruler who had launched mega projects in the province.
But, he alleged that some elements were hindering development process and fanning terrorist activities.
Lauding the promulgation of the National Reconciliation Ordinance, he expressed the hope that political parties would reciprocate positively to strengthen political and democratic institutions.
Jamshed Ahmed was nominated as organiser of the party in Punjab, Azam Khan in the NWFP and Hamayun Khan Abbasi in Sindh.
