HYDERABAD, Nov 30: Hesco Chief Executive Officer Chaudhry Guftar Anjum has appointed a four-member committee, headed by director human resources and administration Zafar Iqbal Awan, to resolve the welfare fund cases of the Wapda employees without any delay.

The other members are deputy manager Hesco Ali Anwar Jokhio, deputy manager legal and labour Sattar Bux Soomro and Hydro Union leader Iqbal Kaimkhani.

Ali Anwar Jokhio, in a statement issued here on Thursday, said the committee has approved 96 cases of scholarship under which the primary level schoolchildren of Wapda employees will be given Rs500, matric and intermediate students Rs1,000, graduate Rs2,000 and students acquiring technical education Rs2,400 per annum.

He further said that 83 marriage cases have also been approved under which Rs20,000 each would be given on the marriage of employees’ children.

He said 25 widows’ cases have also been approved from the widows’ funds at the rate of Rs780 per month.

He said the committee was the final authority for granting approval in these matters.
