Aitzaz’s papers accepted

LAHORE, Dec 1: A returning officer accepted the nomination papers of Supreme Court Bar Association President and PPP leader Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan for NA-124.

Besides, nomination papers of Humayon Akhtar Khan, Mian Ikhlaq Guddu, Mian Abdul Waheed, Sheikh Khuram Rohail, Shahid Imtiaz, Qari Zawar Bahadur, Hafiz Salman Butt, Ayaz Imran, Muhammad Azhar Siddique and Haji Muhammad Ijaz were also accepted for the same seat.

Three forms were accepted from candidates in run for NA-127 —- Chaudhry Shahid Yaqoob, Anwar Shaheen, and Muhammad Sohail Zia Butt.

Meanwhile, nomination papers of nine candidates were accepted for NA-128 namely Malik Zaheer Abbas, Malik Karamat, Malik Azhar, Malik Ijaz, Malik Afzal, Zahoor Wattoo, Aqil Umar, Haji Khalid Parvez and Zikrullah Muhahid.

For PP-154, nomination papers of Nazeer Ahmed Chaudhry, Anwar Shaheen, Muhammad Waris and Mian Naseer Ahmed were accepted and for PP-153 papers of Chaudhry Shahid Yaqoob, Saeed Imtiaz Hussain, Mian Naseer Ahmed, Abdul Ghafoor, Abdul Manan and Muhammad Anwar were accepted. Papers of Muhammad Sohail Zia Butt and Nazeer Ahmed Chohan were accepted for PP-152. Chohan’s papers were also accepted from PP-151.

Two lawyers, Ziauddin Ansari (NA-119) and Hafiz Abdul Rehman Insari (NA-118) withdrew their forms in protest. Nomination papers of former MNA Mian Asif were rejected from NA 121. For NA reserved seats for women, papers of Zarqa But, Farah Khan, Marvi Meman, Nosheen Saeed, Nageena Sadaf, Shagufta, Afshan Roohi, Farzana Malik, Rukhsana Ghazanfar, Nighat Abbas, Syeda Abida Kulsoom, Amina Naveed, Memona Salamat, Adila Mahmood, Nishat Afza, Parveen Masood Bhatti, Nizhat Sadiq, Mrs Nisar Tanveer, Bailam Hasnain, Shehnaz Saleem, Dr Fehmina Ilyas, Rehana Malik, Shehzadi Kausar Gelani, Robina Shaheen Wattoo, Samia Raheel Qazi, Baigum Shahnawaz Sheikh and Shaheen Sultana were accepted.

For provincial assembly reserved seats nomination papers of Savida Zafar, Nabila Tariq, Samina, Shazia Sajid Naqvi, Robina Sulehri, Samia Javed, Yasmin Khan, Shumaila Rana and Zaiba Irum were accepted.
