CHITRAL, Dec 2: The former district chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Maulana Sher Aziz, and naib amir Maulana Rehmatullah Akhunzada have urged party chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed to withdraw the decision of boycotting the coming elections.
Speaking at a news conference here on Sunday, they expressed the concern that the delay in taking a final decision on the matter could demotivate party workers.
They claimed that the party workers were unhappy over the decision of boycott.
When mainstream political parties were taking part in polls, staying away from the process would be a wrong decision, they remarked.
The JI leaders were of the view that Chitral is a stronghold of the JI and said the party could lose its workers if their sentiments were not taken into account.
Maulana Aziz said that whether the decision of boycott would be repealed or not, they would take part in the electoral process.
