KARACHI, Dec 4: Four ships scheduled to load/offload containers, rice, edible oil, and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, crude oil, chemicals, general cargo and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 50 per cent at the wharves where five ships, Maersk Montana, Zabrjad, Don Bass, Yick Hua and Al-Farabi, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, rice, wheat, edible oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 53,993 tons comprising 30,621 tons of import and 23,372 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as Oak Galaxy, Hundy Tanker Glory and Maersk Montana left the port while Yick Hua was due to depart.
